What to say about Pippin. When Pippin was dropped off he was called Hank the Tank. Not the right name we thought, he is much too good looking to be a Hank, so we thought about it and Pippin just came to mind. It's the perfect name for him. Despite his size, Pippin is likely to be calling the shots whenever he is in a group of horses or even humans. His stunning brown color and distinctive crescent moon marking on his head make him hard to forget. He can be impulsive at times but can also be a gentle pony for young children. He is incredibly strong, able to handle riders up to 120 pounds. Pippin has become a favorite with my young riders. He is always careful when they are being led and seems to know to take it slow with timid riders. His size make him great for 3 to 5 year old riders. Working with our newest instructor, Brittany, Pippin has been able to start doing regular lessons with advanced beginer and intermediate riders.
His mannerisms make him hard to resist and most people fall in love with him. It's hard to keep a straight face at times when he needs discipline and many times we find ourselves smiling after one of his antics. The typical Shetland pony.
Pippin is a great horse for the advanced beginner or intermediate rider. He does walk, trot, canter and low jumps. He would be a great lead line pony for a parent with some experience with horses and ponies.
