We now offer riding lessons for students who may have special needs. Marie Aparo is a certified therapeutic riding instructor and brings her knowledge and experience to the learning experience of our special needs riders. Marie can assess each student and make a recommendation for specific activities and instructional techniques to help students ride safely and independently.
This is not a therapeutic riding program. Therapeutic riding programs use horseback riding as a therapy tool to help the student rider, they are not riding instruction programs. We use therapeutic riding techniques to help students learn horseback riding. We see each rider in our program as unique and use many activities found in therapeutic riding programs to help all of our riders develop a strong, balanced, independent seat and effective communication with their horse or pony.
